Egg donation is when one woman gives her eggs, retrieved by a fertility specialist, to another woman to create an embryo via in vitro fertilization (IVF) to achieve a successful pregnancy. Donating eggs is a generous act that can help infertile couples or individuals achieve pregnancy when the female recipient’s eggs are not viable, as well as assisting LGBT couples and individuals build a family.
